Yellowstone: Part 1

We finally made it! I kept telling Kyle that I wanted to go somewhere new this Summer and we decided we would start with Yellowstone. It was a little scary going somewhere new but we finally just packed up and left. I seriously think that it was one the the best decisions we have made. haha It was the prettiest place I have ever been and we already wish that we could go back. If anybody is going let us know!! Because we absolutely loved Yellowstone we have tons of pictures and I'm really bad and narrowing down things so sorry for the picture over load...for reals there are tons. Here is day one!!

Yellowstone!! We took my little sisters Jenae and Jacee. They thought that they were just going for a normal camping trip but ended up loving it there too.

This Geyser didn't stop spraying the whole time we were there. It was pretty cool to watch all of them go off. There are tons all over the park.

I couldn't get over how pretty and rich the colors were. One of my favorite things there were all the rivers and waterfalls.

Me and my handsome man by a river.

Jenae, me and Jacee at one of the rivers.

Old Faithful was on the top of my list of things to see so that is were we headed first. It was so amazing to see. I can't believe that it goes that high and so often. Defiantly a must-see.

After Old Faithful we stopped at Black Sand Basin. Behind us is Cliff Geyser going off. All the Geysers made everything so steamy outside. We kept saying that you would never know if Yellowstone was on fire or not because of all the steam that is everywhere.

One of the many pretty springs.

I can't get over the bright colors!

Jacee and I by Emerald Pool

The girls at the bottom of the hike to Mystic Falls. I thought that the log was super cool.

I loved how thick the trees were, this picture kinda gives you the idea.

This is the view of the river that we had for most of the hike. It was SO pretty!

This is the end result. I got sick (like always) on the way up to the river but it was so worth the 2.5 mile hike.

Grand Prismatic Spring. It was huge! 200 ft wide and over 42 ft deep. Again...the colors were amazing.

Grand Prismatic Spring and view

On our way home we decided to take a little 2 mile detour to Firehole Falls and this was our reward.

Roofing

Grandpa and Grandma needed a new roof on their house really bad so Dad, Kyson, Jake, and my Uncle John worked all day and then Kyle and I came after work and helped them at night. I can't say that I helped a ton but I'm super good at having more nails ready, getting drinks, and talking pictures. The boys on the other hand had a pretty nasty job. They had to tear off 3-4 layers before getting to the roof and then since it was so old it needed to be covered with plywood before they re-shingled...not to mention it was burning hot outside. It was really cool to see everybody come together to get the job done.

Dad was one of the official scrapers. He worked all day to scrap off all the old layers.

Jake, Grandpa, and Kyson cutting the plywood. The straw hats ended up being the "Nailing Crew" for that night.

Kyson and Kyle finishing up nailing down the tarp.

Supervisors: Anneli, Madi, Grandma, and Nicole. Grandma and Nicole always had cold drinks and food ready. They were life savers for the boys.

The Crew after day 1. Kyson, Kyle, Jake, Dad, John. If you look at Dad closely you will see that they are at least 3 huge holes in his pants. All that scraping really took a toll on his pants.

After a week of hard work the roof is done and looks great! I will have to remember to take a picture of the finished project.

FHE at Bridal Veil Falls

The latest and greatest of Family Home Evenings was to hike up to Bridal Veil Falls. The water was FREEZING!! I don't remember it being like that before but I haven't been up there for a really long time.

All the Family hiking up the trail. Notice that there are no big boys...they were all running ahead with the giant frisbee. Yes, Jake was caring Madi on his back while running and yes, the frisbee did almost go in the river at least once.

Jacee, Jake, Me, Jenae, Mom, and Kaden. I was really glad that they could make it. My family seems to be getting so big! Its really weird that I can wear my little sister's clothes now.

Us at the bottom of the waterfall.

Madi and Eva didn't like to play in the water much but they loved to suck on all the rocks. I thought it was so cute.

My cute mommy, me, and my gorgeous little sister Jenae. Pretty sure we took about 17 of these pictures on the walk back down. It was pretty funny.

Kyle and I at the bottom of the trail. It was perfect weather and I didn't want to go home. I love summer nights.

Jack was so cute. He didn't want to go home so he was crying in the back of the truck. He is our little buddy and I think he is so cute when he crys but it is still sad. :(

Spanish Fork Ro-dae-o

To top off our fun crazy weekend we got to go to the Spanish Fork Rodeo on Saturday night. I love the rodeo and try to make it every year. Where else am I going to wear my cute cowboy boots? Even though were we all over the place, it was fun to have everybody at the rodeo... sorry Debbie and Gary, they were too far away for a photo op.

Jake and Anni in their freakin' awesome sets that we got them. Remind me to buy the sets like that next year. You have all the foot room you need!

Kaden, Mom, and Jacee. They got tickets last minute and Kaden had to sit on the stairs but it was worth it. He was so so excited to be there.

Kyle, Me, Sarah, Kerry, Nate, and Katie. Kyle can't seem too look right at the camera sometimes but I love him still the same. It reminds me of bridals...don't take pictures by a road were he can look at all the motorcycles drive by. haha

Waiting for Kerry and Nate to come with the tickets.

Can I just say that we love Whitney and Eric? They found us tickets to the Rodeo on Wednesday and we were so excited to go with them! Thank you so much guys!! We are way excited that you have moved so close to us and now we can play lots again.

Our Crazy Holiday Weekend

We had a really busy Holiday weekend but we can't ever sit still for very long anyways so it was perfect. On Thursday night we headed down to the drive-in in Mount Pleasant to watch Transformers 2. I was so excited to go to the drive-in and then watching Transformers 2 on such a big screen just sweetened the deal. My grandparents have property up Nephi Canyon so we decided to spend the night there and then head to Yuba in the morning to meet Zach and Kate and Jake and Anni. We had a lot of fun swimming and playing on the waverunner all day. I will have to get pictures from Kate and Anni soon.

Zach had been planning on staying the night and camping at Yuba but with it being so busy on the 24th he couldn't get a decent spot. We hated to see them disappointed so we desided to skip out on the Spanish Fork Fireworks and let them enjoy the fun of the Proper-T.

Jenna, Brady, and Brooke in the "Big Pine".

Kate was so prepared with tons of food! We got to roast hot dogs and smores by the Fire Pit.

Zach, Brooke, Kate, and Jenna

Kyle having fun with the fire.. We were really glad that we got to spend the night with Zach and Kate and the kids. I think that they had lots of fun too.

Summer Fun With Family

We have been having a lot of fun, outdoors Family Home evenings lately. 2 weeks ago we went to Burraston Pond, last week we went to Thanksgiving Point's Pioneer Days and this week we went to Bridal Veil Falls. I don't have pictures of Burraston Pond yet but I will post them when I do.

At Thanksgiving Point there were pioneer barn animals, games and crafts. It was fun to watch the kids play with all the animals. Anni helped all the kids make yarn dolls but Madi tried to feed hers to the pigs and that didn't go over so well. She did a lot better feeding the sheep though.

Madi trying to feed the sheep. She didn't want to let go of the corn. She's such a cutie.

Jake, Jack, Me, Madi, and Kyle on the carriage ride.

Halle loved to ride the horse. She couldn't stop smiling. Its a different story for Myli and Jack. They thought it was a little more scary.

Jack playing with the little baby pony. It was so cute!

A Blast From the Past

Every year we have a big Tasker Family Reunion up at the Proper-T. Lynn does an amazing job coordinating all the food and games for about 80 people. This year the theme was A Blast From the Past. It was our 10th annual year so she thought it would be fun to bring a little something back from all the years. No matter what the theme there is always a little....

Relaxing and having Otter Pops or Ice Cream from Grandma...

Lots of picutre taking....

The big Horseshoe Tornament...

Tons of games and prizes (my famly is the best if you can't tell). We won 3 of the 4 in the tire roll...

And more games... Kyle, Kyson, and Jenae were Pro at the water balloon launching...

Jacee was Pro at catching them (or at least getting wet while trying)...

But best of all there is lots and lots of Family! We always have so much fun every year.
