Santaquin
We went right after work one day and met Jake, Anni, and the kids up Santaquin Canyon for a little fishing/hot dog roasting adventure. It was really fun and the kids are cuties. We never can get enough of them.
Halle, Madi, Jack, and Myli. I LOVE Jack's face here. He kept pulling it all night.
This picture reminds me of Yellowstone. It was so pretty up there and its getting me really excited to go back to Yellowstone. Only 2 more weeks!!
My handsome guy fishing.

Saying Farewell to The Beast
Although the name doesn't sound like The Beast was loved, it was. It was sad for me to see it go but the day had come. Kyle finally got to upgrade to a newer car and he is loving it.
Here is The Beast in all its glory. We went through a lot together. New front bumper, reinforced front bumper, 3 front driver side panels, new paint job on the hood, 2 tree attacks, new clutch, 2 mufflers, 2 CV Axels, rolling out the garage down the driveway into a truck, 1 A/C, 2 flat tires, 1 "cliff", Devil worshipers, 3 high school years, 2 collage years, 2 years of marriage, driving lessons for 3 and much much more. It was sad to see it leave. But check out his new ride...

Starting off the Summer
Kyle has this fun place that he always talked about taking me to every time we are around the Proper-T but usually when we are around the Proper-T, our days are packed full of fun activities so we never had a chance to go until now.
There is a place in Maple Canyon called Box Canyon that you can hike into and explore. A couple Saturdays ago we took a day trip to see Box Canyon and rock climb. It is supposed to be one of the best rock climbing places around. We forgot our camera so we didn't get to take very many pictures but here is what we got.
There are super tall rock cliffs on both side the whole time. It is really pretty.

Cute little tree in the middle of the trail.
At the end of the Canyon there is a really tall waterfall that was a little too hard for Katie and I to climb. The boys thought they were invincible so they climbed it while we waited at the bottom. Kyle is taking a picture of us from the top so you can see how far up he really was. I was a little scared for him but he said it was really cool up there and he didn't get hurt so I guess its ok.

The Best 2 Years of my Life

Bring me 2 Pina Coladas...I Want 1 for Each Hand..
I promise we are still alive! I haven't had the chance to update our blog in a really long time. If there is anybody out there that still reads this, I'm sorry. Our life has been a little crazy lately. We have been to Cancun, I had my 23rd birthday, Kyle got a new calling, we bought a new car, softball has started and we got a new BBQ. So if any body is feeling like hamburgers let us know! After 4 years of waiting I finally was able to go to Cancun! I was amazing! I have never seen more beautiful water. Just thinking about it makes me wish we were back there right now. One of the coolest things about the trip was we didn't have to worry about anything. Serious for one of the days we didn't even look at a clock once. I don't know if I will ever be able to do that again.
The trip didn't start off so smooth though. Can I just say that I love America even more then ever now. We got off the plane and were so excited to hit the beach but instead we hit 4 hours of standing in a hot line just to get through customs. We were tired, hungry, and very irritated. Once we got settled in though, we loved every minute.
We pretty much hung out in our swimming suits the whole time. It was so HOT!! It was a little windy though so the beach wasn't as calm but it made for some really fun waves to play in.
This is the view from our hotel. The rooms weren't 5 star but the restaurants and pool area were the nicest on the strip. Who wants to stay in the hotel room when you are in Cancun anyways, right?
There were tons of these little tables all over the hotel. We could go order any drink we wanted at any time. It was pretty fun to try everything out but we figured out there aren't a ton of drinks that you can have without alcohol so we had a lot of Pina Colodas and Mimi Vises but they were delicious!
We spent a lot of time seashell hunting. Why? I don't really know but I do know it was fun and Kyle is Pro. He found this super cool Titan Coral that we may or may not have tried to sneak home.
Paragliding is awesome!! ...if you don't get super seasick on the boat/waverunner ride out there. It was beautiful and we were SOOO high. Its a good thing it was so high so that nobody could see what I was doing up there. haha I'm not going to lie that it was a little disappointing, at least for me, Kyle loved it the whole time. I was so excited to go but the aftereffects make me a little weary of ever going again.
Tulum!! Its a must see! I loved these guys even though they made us pay $5 to take the freaken picture on our OWN camera. Whatever. We were on vacation.
Decoration building in Tulum. It had red had prints on the top floor from the natives. Super cool.
Face built into the outside corner of the decoration building.
The main structure in Tulum. These old historical places are so interesting to me.
A walkway in the middle of Tulum. I thought it was way pretty and the shade felt really good.
Tulum was built on the top of a rock seashore so that they would be protected from their enemies and it was prefect for selling and trading.
Monkey man back at our hotel climbing the palm tree so that we could open a coconut.
Our last day. :( We were so sad to leave. I could have sat on the beach forever and just watched the waves come in.
Overall it was the perfect vacation. We have a couple good stories to tell but we still can't wait to go back. We love Cancun!

The Bad and the Good
Were to start? I lot has happened lately. Good or bad news first? Lets do bad...
Bad new is I think that my kidney stones or whatever problems they are came back. I wasn't too happy about it. I guess it could have been worse. The pain attacks aren't as strong as before but they also aren't as so short so who knows what to do now. It came back for our trip to St. George but only for the last day there. I was ok to play in the sun but it made for a nauseating trip home. Valerie fixed me the most disgusting drink to help get rid of them while we were down there. I'm still debating if it was worth it but the pain hasn't come back yet so it just may have done the trick! If so I owe you big time Val.
Even though I got my kidney problems again and may or may not have gotten rid of it, there was so much good last week too. For one we got to go down to St. George and hang out with Debbie, Gary, Jenae, Jared, Val and the kids for the whole weekend! I found out Kamri and Kaden still love me and got to play the fun Aunt all weekend. Saturday was nice weather but Sunday was perfect!! It was so nice to play in the sun and relax all day. Jenae got fried though poor girl. We did a ton of shopping of Saturday and started to get prepped for summer with some new clothes! Thats always a good thing for a girl.
And one of my favoritest good things for last week was after 4 years of dreaming I am finally going to get to enjoy the warm sun and beaches of Cancun!! I can't tell you how excited I am. There was always something in the way but not this year (knock on wood)....stupid hurricanes and swine flu. We are going to head down to the sun in May. I better start working on my tan and toning up my bikini body. If only it really were possible to become all brown like Kyle. I can dream.
Thats pretty much our week in a wrap. We are still trying to pass Super Mario Brothers and watching tons of movies waiting for the sun to come so give us a call. We love the company!
Can you believe it a post without pictures?

Non-Sunny St George...what?
For Jake's 30th birthday we got to take a little vacation with them to St. George. It was really fun to get away and not be in the snow at home. I have been to Mesquite and St. George more times then I can count and I have never hit non-sunny weather down there so it was a little weird but we loved it still the same. It was so nice to get to hang out with Jared and Val and the kids. Thanks Jared for all the awesome hook ups!! We were able to hang out with them the whole weekend and just relax. Because we were so relaxed we slacked a little on the picture taking. Here are a couple that we did manage to take.
Jake and Anneli had tried to find the "Dixie Rock" that we talked about before but were unsuccessful on their first attempt so we showed them the ropes. On top of the Dixie Rock is a really pretty view of the St. George Temple. The cloudy weather made for pretty pictures and good hiking so all wasn't lost with the lack of sun.
Anneli and I climbing through the rocks
At the Dixie Rock there are tons of trails, you seriously could play there all day. One cool thing we found the first time we went was a little house in the rock. Here is us by the doorway.

Kyle's Big Idea
Back in High School, Kyle would go with his friends up to the old ski lift up Payson Canyon and jump the road. He loved doing that and ever since he got home from his mission his number one plan for the winter is to take the snowmobiles up Payson Canyon and build another jump like he did before. This Winter his big plan finally worked! A couple Saturdays ago we were able to round up a couple snowmobiles and take a trip to jump the road. I'm glad that Kyle finally got to act on his big idea but we defiantly had a couple hard feelings at the end of the day. That is a whole different post that will never get published though.
It was the perfect day to go snowboarding. It was warm (especially when you are working on building the jump) and then it snowed really pretty at the end of the trip.
Kyle showing off his awesome skills. It was really cool to see him snowboard. I had never seen him jump or anything like that before.
You can see that it was about to snow in the back ground. It was super pretty.
Kyle starting the hike to the top again. I love this picture.
Karissa and I decide about 20 mintues before all the boys were leaving that we thought the trip sounded fun. We we packed up the tubes and got to come along for the fun.
I love that Kyle and Kyson are such good friends. Don't even ask what they are doing in this picture, I don't know.

Home Sweet Home
About a year ago all my High School friends got together and decided that we wanted to start up our Girl's Nights again. We have tried this more then once and it would work for a couple months and then die off. I am happy to say that we haven't missed a month yet...knock on wood. It is really nice to get together as just girls once a month and do something fun. We go to chick flicks, out to dinner, make dinner together, and most of all CRAFTS! I have really liked having different projects to work on and look forward to and now my house is looking more like a home and for cheap! I will show you my latest works...
It all started with these bean balls. They were way fun to make. I think they add a fun touch to my coffee table and instead of them being at least $6 a piece they were about $6-10 total.
When we first made the bean balls I had this one in mind but it was the wrong time of the year. I waited until Fall and then all my family went on a walk to look at the Fall leaves and while we were there we collected hundreds of acorns. I took the tops off all of them and after tons of spray paint and glue...here it is! I was pleased but the picture didn't work out so well. Sorry about that.
Now that I had a good coffee table I wanted to keep it safe. These coasters were only 32 cents each! Thanks Whitney for your creativity on the stamping.
I didn't have any Valentine's decorations so we were all excited to make this heart wreath. Isn't it cute?!

More Valentine's decorations. I wish that I could keep them out all year cause now I have to figure out what to put in its place. Any ideas? Here is where they were sitting...
On my new wall table! 20 bucks!! Sweet huh. The front room always seemed empty so hopefully this will start to fill things up.
By far the biggest accomplishment are my new curtains!! After 5 months, a couple set backs (stressful mind you), help from Debbie, and tons from my Mom they are done!! I was very pleased with my sewing skills and grateful for all the help that Debbie and my Mom were so willing to offer. It was a really big job, with 5 windows to cover but it fits perfect and warms up the room a lot. It really makes my house seem more like a home. I love it!
In the above picture you can see this painting above the fireplace. It was my Christmas from Kyle! Even though he thought it was the most boring Christmas present ever I was glad he would still get me it because I love it. I think it is beautiful!
Curtains in the front room
And last but not least...our new recliner! It took no sleep and 5 hours of line baby sitting on the day after Thanksgiving to bring this baby home but I love it and the price was well worth it. The picture looks a little funny cause it is really a chocolate brown color so just imagine k?
Because we were in the curtain mode and it took so long I still wanted to have curtians in our bedroom but not spend the time making them. There was only one place to go...IKEA! Chocolate brown is a little easier to find then the right shade of red so it worked out great. They actually have a flower design to them that is really pretty and took zero sewing! All you had to do was apply a strip, iron it to make the seam and cut. It was awesome.
I know what you probably didn't really care to see all that but I finally feel like we are in more of a home now and the excitement was too much to not share! hehe
